3D Drawing Functions

aSPECT3D provides simple functions for drawing points, lines and surfaces in three dimensional space. Drawing elements can be given individual attributes.
(see also Attribute lists and filter functions)

As well as offering standard functions for copying, cutting and pasting 3D drawing elements, aSPECT3D also provides further functions for closing open lines and for triangulating surfaces.

One particularly effective feature of aSPECT3D is the ability to draw directly onto 3D volume bodies (e.g. an imported VRML model). Lines drawn with this function automatically fit to the surface of the 3D object. This means that not only can precise markings be made extremely quickly and supplemented with additional information, surfaces from the 3D object can also be relocated onto separate layers.
( see also Layer management)

Additionally, contour line and triangulation functions make it possible to divide 3D volume models into several segments and to close the "holes" created by this action resulting in the creation of several separate 3D partial objects.

During Automatic 3D surveying, drawing functions automatically create three dimensional plans in real time using incoming survey data from a linked total station. In this way, the measurements can be monitored actually during the surveying procedure and, if need be, amended or repeated.
