for Archaeology and Heritage

ArcTron has been developing software for use in the fields of archaeology and heritage for over a decade. We work in cooperation with renowned hardware manufacturers. Thanks to these collaborations we are able to provide custom-made, complete systems for the digital documentation of archaeological excavations and heritage projects.

These pages contain information concerning the ArcTron software system which consists of the following components (all components can also be obtained individually):

	ArchaeoCAD
	The standard software solution for the documentation of archaeological excavations: ArchaeoCAD is the ideal tool for rapidly preparing publication standard plans and drawings from your survey data and for reconstructing archaeological features. It can also be used as a basis for the construction of an archaeological information system.
	ArchaeoDATA
	The standard database application for the management of archaeological projects: Includes a comprehensive digital finds and features book, section and area description facility, excavation photos and drawings database, automatic report creation, finds and samples label creation, search engines, archaeological finds classification, pedological feature description and much more.
	ArchaeoMAP
	This program maps archaeological finds and features and is the ideal supplement to ArchaeoCAD and ArchaeoDATA. It enables the user to automatically generate mapping directly from an excavation database.
	ArchaeoDTM
	Gone are the days when finds locations and their surrounding environment had to be laboriously mapped, using only contour line plans as a guide. The 3D digital terrain modelling program, ArchaeoDTM, enables you to swiftly generate more detailed and more informative graphic plans and mapping than ever before.
	aSPECT3D
	aSPECT3D makes it possible to visually monitor three dimensional survey data (e.g. from a total station) whilst still on site. Surveyed coordinates are directly converted in real time into coherent 3D vector lines which can then be processed in various ways.

ArcTron provides complete solutions from a single source. For this reason, we also provide software made by other manufacturers which complements our range of products.
We are currently authorised distributers of the following programs:

	kubit PhoToPlan
	This photogrammetry software is an AutoCAD application and an ideal supplement for ArchaeoCAD.
	Autodesk CAD Software
	Several of the ArcTron applications are based on AutoCAD from AutoDesk. You can obtain this and other programs from us either along with our own software or separately.
