AutoCAD / ArchaeoCAD / PhoToPlan

This basic seminar is aimed at beginners and advanced users of AutoCAD & ArchaeoCAD.

AutoCAD will be discussed in full including installation, settings and all vital basic functions. The focus will be on functions which are not exclusive to ArchaeoCAD but which are of considerable importance to the post-processing of plans.

All ArchaeoCAD 2004 functions will be discussed in detail. Practical excercises will include the automatic processing of plana and sections from survey data and their conversion into print-ready plans. The digitisation section of the course will include the conversion of hand drawn plans and finds drawings executed on graph paper into publication-quality graphics. Various layer and block structures will be explained in detail.

Finally, the most important functions of the auxiliary programs, Autodesk RasterDesign and kubit PhotoPlan, will be demonstrated and discussed. These programs are used for image rectification, vector generation and other graphical tasks.
