3D CAD / 3D Modelling

AutoCAD / ArchaeoCAD / ArchaeoDTM

This seminar deals with the complex topics of 3D data processing, the representation of archaeological survey data and the subsequent creation of three dimensional reconstructions and visualisations. The seminar lasts two days. Prerequisite for participation is a basic knowledge of AutoCAD and ArchaeoCAD. This course is suitable for advanced or experienced system users.

The 3D functions available in AutoCAD and ArchaeoCAD will be examined in detail. Smaller auxiliary programs will be installed and discussed.

Two additional software packages for triangulation and meshing, ArchaeoDTM and aSPECT3D, will also be explored in detail. They enable the user to create three dimensional terrain models, contour line plans, sections, calculations of mass and a multitude of other reconstructions and visualisations of archaeological features.
