Archaeological Excavations

ArcTron - the name represents our many years of experience in practical archaeology. We perform excavations rapidly, competently and economically e.g. excavations which become necessary during the course of building projects.

We employ experienced excavation specialists from various branches of archaeology to carry out investigations and documentation (including specialists in prehistory, early history, provincial Roman, Medieval and Classical archaeology). Our employees have been specially trained in computer-supported documentation and have many years of practical experience on excavations of various kinds.

We employ state-of-the-art excavation methods and technology which considerably reduce the amount of time that must be spent on documentation. For example, total stations, digital laser pantographs, grid photography, surveying cameras and photogrammetry. We can also create video documentation of your excavation if required.

Features and finds documentation and analysis is based on CAD and database applications. The entire data pool is created in electronic form and can therefore be used for the most diverse purposes (e.g. for generating multimedia presentations and CD-ROMs).

If required, ArcTron can also provide additional excavation supervision in the form of scientists from neighbouring disciplines such as geologists, pedologists, surveying engineers, anthropologists, restorers, marcrobotanists etc.
