3D Laser Pantograph ALPHA 5.0ArcTron Ltd has been developing the Laser Pantograph ALPHA since the beginning of 1997. The original concept was for an instrument that enabled rapid three dimensional feature documentation on archaeological excavations and for inventory recordings in buildings and historic monuments heritage. A digital laser pantograph is an "all-round" drawing instrument which can survey three dimensional spatial vectors and convert them into 3D vector drawings on a connected microcomputer in real time. ArcTron Ltd has been employing and developing various digital pantographs since 1995. One of these is the Kartomat, developed by Egon Gersbach and widely used by archaeologists in southern Germany. We converted this instrument into a digital version, complete with surveying laser. The new version of our Laser pantograph ALPHA has been completely redesigned and is primarily intended for the rapid generation of three dimensional documentation on archaeological excavations and for making inventories in the heritage sector. This 3D surveying instrument accelerates three dimensional recording and visualisation of interior spaces by up to 50%. The same increase in working efficiency can also be seen when making stratigraphic, stone-by-stone urban excavation recordings and when documenting complex archaeological features and historic monuments. |
